Gillis Gilkerson Breaks Ground for New YMCA Donnie Williams Aquatics Center


SALISBURY, MD – February 26, 2018 – Gillis Gilkerson, one of the most stable and trusted construction management and general contracting firms on Delmarva, announced it has broken ground for the new Donnie Williams Aquatics Center for the YMCA at 715 South Schumaker Drive in Salisbury, Maryland.

“The natatorium is another exciting phase of the work we are doing for the YMCA, said Dwight Miller, president, Gillis Gilkerson.  “We look forward to helping the organization provide more opportunities for the community in the new aquatics center that will cater to families and seniors.”

The 13,500 square foot building will include bathrooms with lockers and showers and a corridor that will connect it to the lobby of the existing building.  The indoor pool with have a surface area of 4,335 square feet and will be equipped with a zero depth entry level to make it more accessible for families with small children.  The water will be set at a warmer temperature than the other lap pool to cater to senior citizens.  The pool will also include play features such as slides, buckets and sprinklers.
