Achievement Park
Easton, MD

Gillis Gilkerson worked closely with Shore Health Systems/University of Maryland, on this 75,000 square foot medical office facility in Easton, MD. The team re-purposed an old printing facility to convert it into a multifaceted medical park. The newly revitalized space, a first-class medical complex, helped Shore Regional Health consolidate several physician practices into one location and now serves as a premiere asset to attract better doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals to the area.
Phase one of the project included 25,000 square feet and phase two encompassed another 50,000 square feet bringing the complex to a total of 75,000 square feet of space dedicated to health professionals. As a former printing press, parking was never an issue. In order to successfully redevelop the space for medical office use, 50,000 square feet of the existing building was demolished to create parking and covered customer/patient entrances. The revitalization maintained most of the original structure and serves as a model for infill development which increases the tax base of a community while minimally stressing local infrastructure.
Achievement Park received the Economic Development Project Award in the small community category from the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA). The Gillis Gilkerson Development team earned the honor for its revitalization efforts of the abandoned 200,000 square foot Cadmus Building in Easton, Maryland into Achievement Park, a medical/office campus. Talbot County Economic Development & Tourism nominated Gillis Gilkerson for the award.
